Welcome to the Old Colony

The Old Colony Condominum is located at 615 Boren Ave (Boren at Cherry) in Seattle. This grand building was constructed in 1909 as a luxury apartment and hotel for new-come residents and visitors to the growing frontier city of Seattle. The Edwardian-styled architecture and details were reminiscent of east-coast residences and the Old Colony – and the very fashionable First Hill neighborhood - soon became a prestigious destination.

In its long life, the Old Colony changed hands several times and fell into disrepair. The building was saved from the wrecking ball by developer David Michaud and the Old Colony Condominium was incorporated in 1991. Through the efforts of the owners, many units have been restored and many original details remain. The architecture and stylistic details make the Old Colony a unique Seattle residence.

The Old Colony has thirty-two units on four floors. The resident directory and door buzzer can be found at the main east-facing entrance. The building’s central stairwell provides access to all residential floors. The building’s west-facing back door enters into the back stairwell, which provides access to all residential floors as well as the basement.
